Himachal Drops Caste Column To Promote Equality In Schools

Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh has ordered the removal of the caste column from school admission forms from the next academic session. He said the move will promote equality and prevent caste-based discrimination among children. However, students can still provide caste details when applying for govt schemes and benefits meant for eligible communities.
