The Centre has asked states and Union Territories to help households switch from LPG to PNG where piped gas is available. The move aims to promote cleaner cooking fuel and reduce LPG distribution pressure. States have been asked to appoint district-level nodal officers to support PNG connections, consumer outreach, verification and grievance resolution.
