A madrasa student, Muntazir, was allegedly assaulted by drunk men on a Meerut-Deoband train after refusing their alcohol offers. He changed seats twice, but they followed and attacked him. He was forced off at Khatauli station, where his phone and cash were stolen. A similar attack killed a cleric in April.
