SC Reverses Order On Maran’s Telecom Witness Plea

The Supreme Court has overturned a Madras High Court order allowing Dayanidhi Maran to summon the Union Telecom Secretary as a court witness in the alleged illegal telephone exchange case. The apex court restored the trial court’s earlier decision while permitting Maran to call the secretary as a defence witness if he chooses.
