The Jharkhand High Court ruled that the right to protest does not permit attacks on judges, disruption of court proceedings or damage to court property. The ruling followed a 2022 mob attack at Latehar Civil Court. The court also directed similar security for judicial officers across Jharkhand to protect judicial independence.
