Govt Plans 5-Year Extension For EV, CNG, Hydrogen Vehicles

The govt has proposed extending the permissible age of battery, hydrogen and natural gas-powered commercial vehicles under the national permit system by 5 years. The draft amendment would raise existing limits from 12 and 15 years to 17 and 20 years. The move aims to promote cleaner transport while simplifying permit procedures and increasing digital processes.
