Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah backed the cancellation of the Indus Waters Treaty, saying India should use its river water properly. He criticised Pakistan’s concerns over Kashmir’s water resources and said the treaty had restricted India’s use of its rivers. Abdullah also renewed his demand for restoring Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood.
