TG Proposes 3-Year Jail For Fatal Fire Safety Violations

Telangana has proposed stricter fire safety rules, including up to three years in jail and a ₹5 lakh fine for negligence causing death. The draft amendments also punish safety violations, false audit reports and poor maintenance. A Fire Prevention and Life Safety Fund is proposed, while buildings may be divided into three categories based on fire risks.
