SC Quashes Defamation Complaint Against Rahul Gandhi

The Supreme Court today quashed a criminal defamation complaint and magistrate’s summoning order against Rahul Gandhi over remarks on VD Savarkar. Justice Deepankar Datta said the absence of required sanction ended the matter. Gandhi had challenged the Allahabad High Court's refusal to quash summons issued by a Lucknow magistrate in the defamation case.
