The Amarnath Yatra 2026 will be suspended from August 9 on both the Chandanwari and Baltal routes. Authorities cited recent heavy rains, unsafe track conditions and an adverse weather forecast. The Border Roads Organisation will carry out repair work to ensure pilgrim safety. Over 4.8 lakh devotees have visited the shrine so far this year.
