The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized 364 metric tonnes of Pakistan-origin dry dates worth around ₹3 crore at Kandla Port. The consignment was declared as UAE-origin but was allegedly routed through Dubai to bypass India's import restrictions. DRI officials seized the goods under the Customs Act, 1962, citing misdeclaration and violation of trade rules.
