Chandipura Threat: Teams Sent To Gujarat, Rajasthan

The Centre has deployed a national response team to Gujarat and Rajasthan amid a Chandipura virus outbreak. Gujarat reported 35 cases and 22 child deaths, and Rajasthan confirmed 3 cases. The sandfly-borne virus causes severe encephalitis. Experts are strengthening surveillance, treatment, and containment, while stressing early detection and vector control.
