Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) founder Prashant Kishor is leading the Bankipur Assembly bypoll by 862 votes after the first round of counting in Bihar. Kishor secured 2,225 votes, while BJP candidate Neeraj received 1,363 votes. RJD's Rekha Kumari stands third with 505 votes. The bypoll recorded a modest 34.24% voter turnout, lower than the previous election.
