Former BRS MLA Rega Kanta Rao was booked in Hyderabad for allegedly raping a woman in 2022 and cheating her of money on the pretext of real estate investment and marriage. A case under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was filed. Rao has approached the Telangana High Court to quash the complaint, calling the charges baseless.
