India's fiscal deficit for April-June 2026 touched ₹3.1 trillion, or 18.2% of the full-year target, up from ₹2.8 trillion last year. Net tax receipts rose to ₹6.4 trillion, and total expenditure increased to ₹13.6 trillion. Capital expenditure also grew to ₹3.4 trillion. The government aims for a 4.3% GDP deficit for 2026-27.
