Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to freedom fighter Shaheed Udham Singh on his martyrdom day, saying his courage and sacrifice will inspire every generation. Union ministers and several chief ministers also honoured him. Udham Singh avenged the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and was executed in London on July 31, 1940.
