The Supreme Court has barred uploading or sharing audio-video recordings of court proceedings without permission from the concerned court. CJI Surya Kant clarified that the order does not affect news reporting. Hearing a PIL on livestreaming, the court raised concerns over misuse of edited clips and stressed viewing judicial proceedings in proper context.
