The Centre has stepped up rescue efforts as heavy monsoon rains affected several states. The Home Ministry said NDRF teams, state agencies and the armed forces rescued people, shifted thousands to safety and provided relief. It is monitoring the situation round the clock while assessing flood damage and supporting affected states.
