TGSRTC’s ambitious plan to convert 200 old diesel buses into electric vehicles may take longer than expected. The project is awaiting approval for a new prototype, which must undergo safety and performance tests by ARAI. After clearance, buses will be retrofitted in phases. The RTC expects the converted fleet to be operational next year.
