El Nino has caused moderate to severe rainfall shortages in 11 districts of Andhra Pradesh, especially in Rayalaseema. Minister Anitha reviewed the situation and asked officials to help farmers with alternative crops, improve disaster preparedness, and ensure drinking water, electricity, food, medical services and emergency response during the monsoon season.
