Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group and its US-based payment processor, AUS Merchant Services, will pay $600 million to settle a US Dept of Justice probe over pharma sales. Alibaba admitted it failed to prevent 80,000 unlawful transactions on Alibaba.com and AliExpress between 2016 and 2024, with the settlement including criminal penalties by both firms.
