West Bengal Assembly Passes OBC Reservation Bill

The West Bengal Assembly on Monday passed a Bill to extend OBC reservation in government jobs to 66 classes. The legislation was cleared with 186 votes in favour and 17 against. Although some TMC legislators walked out before voting, the ruling party comfortably passed the amendment with support from its remaining MLAs.
