How Did Congress Win 5 Of 7 Karnataka MLC Seats?

In a big boost for Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar, the Congress secured 5 of 7 Legislative Council seats in its first electoral test under his leadership. The results indicated apparent cross-voting by BJP and JD(S) MLAs, as Congress candidates collectively received 151 votes despite the party and 3 Independents together holding 138 votes in 224-member Assembly.
