Amid cross-voting during the Jharkhand Rajya Sabha polls, NDA-backed Independent candidate Parimal Nathwani secured one of 2 seats by defeating Congress' Pranav Jha. Nathwani received 28 votes, while Jha managed 20. The other seat was won by ruling JMM candidate Baidyanath, who polled 30 votes. The poll also witnessed 2 invalid votes, including 2 from BJP MLAs.
