India-UK Deal: Car Imports Get Major Tariff Cuts

Under the India-UK CETA, India will permit the import of 3.78 lakh conventional-engine passenger cars from the UK at concessional duties over 15 years, with tariffs reduced from 110% to 10% under quota limits. India will also gain duty-free access to UK electric, hybrid, and hydrogen cars from the sixth year within defined price segments.
