India’s Wholesale Inflation Surges To 9.68% In May

India’s wholesale inflation rose to 9.68% in May, up from 8.3% in April, driven by high fuel (30.33%) and food (4.49%) prices due to West Asia tensions. Fuel and power were the largest contributors, with crude petroleum inflation at 61.51%. Manufacturing inflation also increased to 7.48%. Data is under a revised WPI series.
