West Bengal govt has unveiled a women-empowerment initiative offering free bus travel from June 1. Under this, women will travel free on all state-run buses across Bengal. Eligible applicants will receive a digital Smart Card featuring a QR code and photo. The move aims to enhance mobility, accessibility, and financial independence for women statewide.
