Nearly 200 bats died in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district, with officials suspecting heatwave-induced heatstroke as temperatures reached 42-44°C. The bats were found near Naukonia pond in Pali. Forest and veterinary teams collected samples to confirm the cause. Heatwave conditions are expected to persist across central Chhattisgarh for the next several days.
