Large parts of north and central India will face severe heatwave conditions till May-end, the IMD warned. Temperatures have already crossed 45°C in many regions. States including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh are likely to experience extreme heat between May 24 and 29, making daytime outdoor conditions extremely harsh.
