How Can Rising Inflation Force RBI To Hike Interest?

Rising crude oil prices, Gulf tensions and expensive food can fuel inflation in India. If global oil prices remain near $100 per barrel, transportation costs may increase, pushing up prices of goods and services. To control it, the RBI may consider raising interest rates to reduce demand. Retail inflation is expected to peak in Q3 of FY2026-27 before easing.
