Germany's former foreign spy chief August Hanning was arrested on suspicion of espionage and attempted treason. Prosecutors allege he sought to pass sensitive information to overseas intelligence services. His former chief of staff, Manfred D., was also arrested, accused of supplying around 2,000 classified documents to Hanning over the years allegedly.
