Tamil Nadu CM Vijay launched the 'Thai Maman Thanga Mothiram' scheme at Govt Rajaji Hospital in Madurai today. Under this, eligible newborns delivered in govt hospitals and primary centres will receive a 1-gram, 22-carat gold ring. The scheme covers eligible babies born from June 22, with implementation initially excluding two constituencies due to bypolls.
