India beat West Indies by eight wickets in the first ODI in Thiruvananthapuram. Chasing 296, captain Shubman Gill scored his 10th ODI century and Virat Kohli hit his 86th international century. Earlier, Justin Greaves made 101 and Amir Jangoo scored 58 as West Indies posted 295. Kuldeep Yadav took four wickets, while Prasidh Krishna claimed two. India lead the series.
