Screen Protector Quality Norms To Create 60,000 Jobs: ICEA

The government has brought smartphone screen protectors under the Compulsory Registration Order, requiring BIS registration from April 1, 2027. ICEA said this will boost domestic manufacturing, create 60,000 jobs, generate Rs 12,000–16,000 crore in business and Rs 2,000 crore in GST. Over 90% of India's 500 million screen protectors are currently imported.
