Veteran Bengali actress Mithu Mukherjee, who died at 71, began her film journey with Shesh Parba in 1972. She shot to fame with Marjina Abdulla and later starred in notable Bengali films including Nishi Kanya, Mouchak and Swayamsiddha. She also entered Hindi cinema with Khaan Dost, followed by Safed Jhoot and Dillagi. Her final film, Ashrita, released in 1990.
