CCTV Cameras At Chemists’ Shops: What The Govt Plans

India’s drug advisory panel has proposed CCTV cameras at pharmacy counters to help prevent illegal sales of controlled drugs. Chemists’ groups oppose the plan, citing costs of ₹50,000–₹1 lakh, power cuts and poor internet in rural areas. They want small pharmacies to get exemptions or government support before the rule is implemented.
