Karnataka CM D.K. Shivakumar accused the BJP of using the Vande Mataram row to create unrest. He defended the police officer at the centre of the controversy and urged the BJP to protest peacefully. Shivakumar also said the government is preparing for a possible drought, power shortage and drinking water problems across Karnataka.
