West Bengal has ordered 252 madrasas to close and issued show-cause notices to about 100 others after a statewide survey found many lacked required approvals and basic infrastructure. Minority Affairs Minister Kshudiram Tudu said compliant madrasas will continue operating. The TMC's Kunal Ghosh warned against painting all madrasas with the same brush.
