Volcanic Ash Crisis: Jakarta Airport Reopens

Indonesia's main airport and four others reopened today after volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau disrupted air travel. 8 airports had suspended operations, affecting nearly 3,000 flights and stranding more than 340,000 passengers. Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport confirmed flights had resumed as the volcanic ash crisis began to ease across Java.
