Abhinandan Leaves IAF, Joins Private Airline Fly91

IAF's Group Captain Abhinandan Varthaman, the Vir Chakra recipient who shot down a Pakistani F-16 during the February 2019 aerial combat, has left the Indian Air Force. He retired from service on March 31 and joined regional private airline Fly91, IAF officials said. Abhinandan was captured by Pakistan after his MiG-21 Bison was hit during the dogfight.
