Onion Prices Rise 59% As Kanda Express Heads To Delhi

The Centre is sending 800 metric tonnes of onions from Nashik to Delhi by rail as onion prices rise sharply. The “Kanda Express” will help increase supplies and control prices. Retail onion prices rose 59% year-on-year to Rs 43.53 per kg on August 24. The government is also using buffer stocks to manage shortages.
