A Kerala consumer commission has ordered a biryani cafe to pay ₹96,500 to a woman who fell ill after eating alfaham. The Pathanamthitta commission awarded ₹ 36,500 for hospital expenses, ₹ 50,000 compensation and ₹ 10,000 litigation costs. The woman was hospitalised for a week after reportedly developing a Salmonella infection.
