The Union Cabinet has approved four railway multitracking projects worth ₹9,450 crore across West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Covering about 410 km, the projects aim to ease congestion, strengthen passenger and freight movement and improve connectivity. The upgrades are expected to benefit around 60 lakh people across eight districts.
