Telangana Merges Food Safety, Drugs Control Departments

The Telangana govt has merged the Food Safety and Drugs Control departments to create TG SAFE, a unified authority for food and essential drugs. The new body will strengthen inspections, testing, surveillance and enforcement. IPS officer Avinash Mohanty has been appointed Commissioner. The govt aims to improve coordination, modernise systems and protect public health.
