A CAG audit found E. coli in drinking water at eight railway stations, including Hyderabad and CSMT. Water at 49 other stations also showed bacterial contamination. The audit found 458 of 512 stations lacked essential facilities, while 59 stations had no drinking-water quality tests. CAG urged Railways to improve testing and sanitation.
