Shurpanakha's quest for revenge began after Ravana accidentally killed her husband, Vidyutjihva, during a conquest. Though Ravana granted her authority over Dandak Forest, she never forgave him. According to the Kamba and Ananda Ramayanas, she manipulated events leading Ravana to abduct Sita, triggering the war in which Lord Rama ultimately killed him.
