The Central government has extended the tenures of Cabinet Secretary TV Somanathan and Home Secretary Govind Mohan by one year. Approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, the extension allows both senior IAS officers to continue in their posts until August 2027. They were appointed to their current positions in August 2024.
