The Finance Ministry approved raising EPF's mandatory wage ceiling to ₹25,000 from ₹15,000. Awaiting Cabinet approval, the new limit is expected from April 2027. It will extend PF/pension coverage to more private employees but increase employer costs. The government's pension contribution will also rise. Employees earning ₹15,000-₹25,000 will be mandatorily covered.
