The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has proposed phased implementation of vehicle-to-vehicle communication systems in India. Starting Oct 2027, new vehicles must follow AIS-230 standards, while all L, M and N category vehicles will require V2V systems from 2028 onwards. The technology aims to improve road safety through real-time vehicle connectivity.
