West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced that ISKCON will provide satvik, protein-rich mid-day meals in Kolkata schools from August 1 under a pilot project. Eggs will be supplied separately through self-help groups. The state also increased the per-student meal allocation and announced plans to recruit nearly 50,000 teachers.
